The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency reported it is alarmed with regards to the superior number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly here due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area each day. The services point created for intervention activities a substantial influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it tough with the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and boost use of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
